Not only have I used tumeric in culinary and Ayurvedic practices but for dyeing and cosmetic use. I have even sold it to medical research companies as it is being investigated for possible cancer-fighting properties.
Part of the Ayurvedic lessons taught to me by my grandfather was, I had to learn how to grow turmeric, one of many ingredients he used in his remedies for sick villagers. Rooting them up was always a fun childhood memory: growing something with my hands and then later harvesting the miracle nature made.
