Ingredients:
 
  • 1/2 lb chicken, ground
  • won-ton wrappers
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 1/4 inch fresh ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Nirmala's Kitchen Wild Fire Blend
  • 2 tsp Nirmala's Kitchen Malay Curry Powder
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • 2 oz coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 bunch long chives
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • oil for deep frying
Directions:
  1. In a pan heat the oil; add spices, shallot, ginger, garlic and coconut milk, cook for 30 seconds. add chicken and Cook for another 10 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and let cool. Add 1 tbsp chives and salt.
  3. Brush edges of won-ton wrappers with beaten egg. Place 2 tsp of cooled mixture on each wrapper.
  4. Pull up edges of wrappers, pinching and twisting tops to seal. Deep fry filled wrappers in hot oil until light golden.
  5. Garnish: Place long strips of chives in a wet paper towel; microwave on high for 2 minutes. Remove, let cool and use to tie the pouches with bows.
