Chinese Star Anise
Native to China and Vietnam, the beautiful dried, star-shaped fruit are from the Chinese magnolia tree. This evergreen
also grows in Japan, India and certain parts of the Philippines.
Not to be confused with anise seed, star anise has a similar anise taste; however, it is quite pungent with a licorice-like
flavor. Star anise is used in many South Asian cuisines, especially roasted meats; it heightens the flavor of stewed fruits,
pies and other desserts.
Comes in our signature airtight tin, which measures 2-1/2 inches in diameter and 1-3/4 inches in height.
